Tom Savage

Tom Savage is the Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Marvell Technology. Tom has held this position since January 2009 and is responsible for leading the worldwide legal function for the company. Marvell Technology focuses on data storage, mobile and wireless communications, and enterprise networking hardware and software products. It has an annual revenue of more than $3 billion.

Tom has successfully streamlined the legal department to hold headcount flat while meeting the evolving needs of a growing company with increasingly complex international operations. Tom has also organized and participated in all Board of Directors and committee meetings, and managed corporate governance and SEC activities. This included engagement with activist shareholders. In addition, Tom has overseen all litigation and regulatory actions, including patent disputes, derivative and securities class actions, and human resource proceedings. Tom has also managed the intellectual property portfolio development and strategy, inbound technology licensing, outbound sales contracting, and other commercial arrangements worldwide. Tom has led the government affairs function, including public policy and interactions with government regulators. Tom has also managed the trade compliance function and provided leadership for ethics and compliance, enterprise risk management, internal control, and information governance functions.

Tom Savage has been with Marvell Technology for over 8 years and has been a driving force in the company's success. Tom has extensive experience in managing a legal department for a large company, as well as experience in corporate governance, SEC compliance, intellectual property law, and trade compliance.

Tom Savage attended North Side High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Tom then went on to study at Harvard University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government (Political Science). After completing their undergraduate degree, Tom Savage attended the University of Chicago Law School, where they earned a Doctor of Law (JD).

Tom Savage reports to Matt Hicks, President & CEO. They work with Joe Fitzgerald - VP & GM, Management, Michael Ferris - SVP, Corporate Development & Strategy, and Jennifer Dudeck - SVP, Chief People Officer.
