Travis Nielsen

Travis Nielsen is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in cloud technologies and Kubernetes. Currently serving as a Senior Technical Staff Member at IBM since January 2023, Travis focuses on OpenShift Data Foundation architecture and maintains Rook. Previously, Travis held the position of Senior Principal Software Engineer at Red Hat, continuing the maintenance of Rook, after serving as a Principal Software Engineer at Quantum, where Rook was also a key project. Earlier experience includes a Technical Lead role at Symform, emphasizing quality and customer-focused software development, and various developmental roles at Microsoft, which contributed to the server management features in Windows Server 2008 and earlier versions. Travis holds both a Master's and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Brigham Young University.
