Rosy Stone's work experience begins in 1989 as a Historical Interpreter at the Historic Kenmore Plantation. From 1989 to 1992, they served as an Assistant Curator and Historical Interpreter at the Museum of the Confederacy. In 1992, Stone worked as a Graduate Student Assistant at George Mason University. Rosy then became a Historical Interpreter at Shirley Plantation from 1993 to 1995. Stone went on to work as an Interim Curator of Collections and Curatorial Assistant at the Lynchburg Museum System from 1995 to 1997. Following that, they worked as a Curator of Collections at Petersburg Museums from 1997 to 1999. Lastly, Stone became the Director of Operations at Re:discovery Software, Inc. in 1999.
Rosy Stone obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Mary Washington from 1988 to 1992. Later, they pursued further education and completed their Master of Arts degree in History from George Mason University, which they finished by the year 2000.
