David Heath has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. David worked at Redleaf Press as the Publisher and Senior Vice President, overseeing publishing work and participating in the executive team. David also held various roles at Redleaf Press, including Director, Co-Director, and Editor in Chief. Prior to that, they owned Heath Associates, Inc. and worked as a Contractor for The Mazer Corporation. David was also a Contractor at Twin Cities Public Television, where they managed content development and website creation. Before that, they were the Director of Curriculum Product Development at American Guidance Service Publishing, where they developed textbooks for students below grade level. David served as the Vice President of Curriculum Development at Curriculum Concepts International, leading project planning teams and managing major state adoption projects. Additionally, they worked as a Professional Actor, Manager of Long Range Planning at CBS Television Network, and was responsible for strategic planning and research. Currently, they are retired but interested in freelance editing.

David Heath completed their high school education at Xenia High School, where they received a High School Diploma with a focus on college preparation. David then attended Ohio Northern University from 1966 to 1970, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Following this, from 1970 to 1972, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Theater History and Dramatic Criticism at Ohio University. In 1972, they briefly studied Theater History and Literature at Freie Universität Berlin. David later obtained a Teacher Certification in Education from Wright State University in 1973-1974. Additionally, in 1968-1969, they studied Liberal Arts, European History, and Culture at the European-American Study Center.
