Michele Cyran has over 25 years of experience in the tech industry. Michele began their career in 1997 at Oracle as a Technical Writer, where they wrote books from scratch and restructured existing books to add features and improve messaging. Michele was then promoted to Senior Technical Writer, where they lead the writing for Secure Enterprise Search and Ultra Search, and created new online help systems for administrators, installers, and end users. In this role, they also demoed functionality at Oracle Open World. Later, they were promoted to Principal User Assistance Developer, where they worked with writers, engineers, product managers, and designers to identify content gaps and create meaningful user assistance for a variety of user roles. Michele also tested and recommended evolving standards for user assistance, including XML authoring tools, DITA templates, REST API docs, content management systems, videos, design components, topic reuse vs linking. Her most recent role was Principal Technical Writer, where they were the lead writer for Data as a Service products, creating documentation, video demos, hands-on labs, online help, customer notifications, eBooks, and onboarding infographics. Michele also worked with internal teams and external data partners to understand and explain the latest use cases and pain points. Michele is currently employed at Redpanda Data as a Technical Content Developer.
