Simon Soriano

Simon Soriano has had a diverse work experience, beginning with a role as a Google Student Ambassador in 2013. In 2014, they worked as a Software Engineer at Elibom Colombia Ltda, where they led the development of Datapagos, a payments platform for Colombia. Simon also migrated the frontend from Ruby on Rails to Angular. That same year, they were a Software Engineer at PayU Latam. In 2015, they were a Software Engineer at Make it Real.Camp, where they led the development of start.makeitreal.camp, an online platform to learn web development with auto-evaluated code challenges, video tutorials, projects and 1-on-1 mentorship. In 2016, they were a Software Engineer at Toptal. In 2017, they were a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer at Uber, where they led the development and implementation of Remote execution and remote caching for the build system, achieving 2x build time improvements in 50% of CI jobs for the largest repository in the company, and co-designed and co-developed a test analysis platform capable of processing millions of test results per hour. In 2018, they were a Ruby and Ruby on Rails teacher at Platzi. In 2020, they were a Co-founder and Eng and product advisor at Salonomi. Currently, they are a Software Engineer at Redpanda Data.

Simon Soriano obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana between 2009 and 2014.
