Todd Farmer has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Todd started their career as a Financial Aid Officer at Wheaton College in 1998. In 2003, they moved on to work at ELM Resources as a Business Analyst and later as a Programmer Analyst - Lead. At ELM Resources, they provided operational support, problem diagnosis, and feature development for web-based data exchange supporting student loan origination and processing.
In 2006, Todd joined Oracle as a Support Engineer, where they assisted customers with deployments of MySQL products. Todd quickly advanced through various roles within the company, including Manager of Support, Director of MySQL Global Support, and Director of Technical Product Management for MySQL. In these positions, they managed teams of technical support staff, established support procedures and tools, and coordinated NPI and security-related processes across the MySQL product portfolio.
In 2016, Todd joined Cloudera as a Senior Manager of Backline Support. Todd led a globally-distributed team and focused on developing technical expertise and reducing support demand through product supportability enhancements. Todd also established a leadership development program within the Support organization.
From 2019 to 2022, Todd worked at Oracle MySQL as a DevOps Architect (Senior Program Manager). In this role, they defined, established, and managed the DevOps and SRE functions supporting the launch and operation of a fully managed cloud database.
In 2022, Todd joined Voltron Data as a Senior Manager of Open Source Support Engineering. Here, they established support policies and procedures, defined customer engagement practices, and led the administration and management of support and engineering delivery issue tracking systems.
Since 2023, Todd has been working at Redpanda Data as a Senior Technical Program Manager.
Todd Farmer earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Wheaton College between 1992 and 1997. Todd then pursued further education and achieved a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Iowa between 2022 and 2025, specializing in Business Administration and Management. Additionally, Todd Farmer holds several certifications including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Certified Architect Associate from Oracle, as well as Oracle Certified Professional in MySQL DBA, MySQL Developer, Sun Certified Java Programmer, and Sun Certified Web Component Developer from Sun Microsystems.
