Zhenzhen Ye

Zhenzhen Ye has a wealth of experience in the technology industry. Zhenzhen began their career in 2002 as a Research Intern at the Institute for Infocomm Research. In 2005, they were a Summer Intern at Motorola, where they proposed two novel low-complexity channel tracking schemes for general Orthogonal-Frequency-Division-Multiplexing (OFDM) systems and presented their work on ARTP Tech Forum. In 2007, they were a Summer Intern at Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs, where they proposed a low-complexity, standard-compliant synchronization architecture specifically for Multiband OFDM (MB-OFDM) Ultra-wideband (UWB) systems and filed two US patent applications and published two technical papers on the proposed synchronizer. In 2008, they were a Summer Intern at Cisco, where they developed a simulation-aided approach for testing Cisco radio resource management (RRM) algorithms in wireless LANs and finished two company-confidential technical reports on the proposed testing methodology for Dynamic Channel Assignment (DCA) algorithm in RRM. In 2009, they were an Operations Research Engineer at iBasis, where they conducted call log data mining and algorithm development for detecting various quality issues (e.g., Dead Air, False Answer Supervision) in voice-over-IP (VOIP) service, routing strategy optimization to balance quality and cost in IP-based networks, dialing pattern mining for quality monitoring/control of voice traffic, and rule-based pricing system design and optimization for automatic price updates and revenue/margin maximization of the wholesale platform in VOIP services. In 2011, they were a Senior Data Scientist at IBM, where they led predictive model development for utility outage prediction with localized high-precision weather forecast, applied machine learning techniques to improve business decisions/operations in utility companies (e.g., storm-matrix classification, pre-storm staff mobilization planning, hot-spot analysis on utility infrastructure & preventive maintenance scheduling), and provided client-facing consulting & on-demand problem solving. Since 2017, they have been a Manager, Sr. Principal Systems Engineer and Principal Algorithm Engineer at Redpoint Positioning Corporation, where they have been leading system level R&D, IP and industrial standards (IEEE 802.15.4ab & FiRa) related activities.

Zhenzhen Ye obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Optimal Control and Machine Learning in Wireless Networks from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2009. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in Wireless Networks and Communications from the University of California, Riverside in 2005. Zhenzhen also obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in High Performance Computation / Operations Research from the National University of Singapore in 2003. Her educational background began with a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Southeast University in 2000.
