RedSquid provides open and customisable smart TV platform solutions for telecommunications operators/Pay TV providers, Public Service Broadcasters, TV OEMs and Advertisers.  

The team is almost wholly from the semiconductor industry for Pay TV set-top boxes (STBs) and smart TV chipsets, as well as the development of in-device system software that powers those products.  Collectively, they have all the capabilities to create the complex low-level software, in-device AI algorithms, and crucially bring the ecosystem knowledge.  

The RedSquid product enables telco operators to use their own UI (usually derived from their existing STB UI or retail TV App), meaning they gain full control of the TV with minimal effort. 

RedSquid is the only TV OS handing telcos end-to-end control, from the UI, promotions, data, billing and Ad platform.  Of the many other TV OS platforms, it is one of the few to go deep, down to the chipset level, so telcos have significant opportunities for further customisation. 

RedSquid was officially founded in 2025, and is headquartered in Bristol, England.  The RedSquid TV platform has been built over the last two years using well proven IP blocks, and further developed to add innovative Edge AI technology.  During this time, it has been entirely bootstrapped, and until January 2026 was operating in stealth mode.  The platform is already in mass production in the MENA region, providing clear PMF.  It has been demonstrated in a private suite at IBC 2025, with partnerships from both retail TV and Pay-TV industries.

RedSquid is primarily a “headless” platform, but has the necessary partnerships to enable a fully functional UI.   It also has the necessary partnerships in financing such that a TV need never touch the balance sheet of a Pay TV provider, removing any Capex demands, as is required with a set-top box.
