Lead Design Engineer at Redwire Space

Adam W. has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Adam began their career as a Design Engineer intern at Modernfold, Inc in 2008, where they created BOM for new product development and updated component drawings. Adam then worked as a Test Engineer intern at Caterpillar Inc., validating vehicle components and reducing oil sample testing turnaround time. Adam joined the American Red Cross in 2006 as a Responder on the Disaster Action Team, providing assistance to fire victims and distributing supplies to firefighters and police. Adam later joined Oshkosh Corporation - Defense as a Design Engineer intern, where they developed and integrated secondary vehicle HVAC systems. Adam then moved to a Design Engineer role at Oshkosh Corporation - Defense, specializing in Powertrain design. Adam then spent time at Universal Trailer Corporation as a Design Engineer, reducing quote lead times and leading a new product development project. At CZM-US Foundation Equipment, Adam researched and implemented cutting-edge technologies and designed software tools for interdepartmental collaboration. Adam then joined Apeel, where they held various roles including Staff Mechanical Engineer and Associate Director. In these positions, they led cross-disciplinary teams, developed commercial food processing equipment, and managed fabrication and assembly drawings. Currently, Adam W. is working as a Lead Design Engineer at Redwire Space since 2023.

Adam W. completed their education with a Master's degree in Biological & Agricultural Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the period from 2006 to 2010. Additionally, they hold a certification as an Engineer In Training / Engineer Intern (EIT / EI) from NCEES, obtained in 2010. Adam W. is also pursuing multiple certifications in various fields related to data analysis and statistics from SAS, with an expected completion in 2023.
