We are Refined, a medical technology company based in Münster, Germany, developing imaging technology for real-time cancer diagnostics.

Today, critical diagnostic decisions often take hours or days because tissue samples are analyzed off-site in specialized labs. This delay can impact surgical workflows, treatment decisions, and patient outcomes.

Refined is changing this by enabling molecular tissue analysis within minutes, directly at the point of care. Our high-precision laser microscopy empowers surgeons and pathologists to identify cancer cells during surgery, reducing repeat procedures, patient stress, and treatment costs.

We have raised more than €10 million in private and public funding and are a team of 22 people. We partner with hospitals, MedTech and pharma companies, and external service providers. We have completed our first clinical study and are now very close to IVD-A approval.

Refined’s laser systems are used worldwide as key components in life-science research and quantum technology, forming the technological foundation for our clinical solutions.
