Iman Safari

Iman Safari is a chemical engineering professional with extensive experience in process development and bioprocess engineering. Currently serving as the Head of Process Development at Refinity since October 2025, Iman has held key roles including Expert Bioprocess Engineer at bp from July 2024 to October 2025, and Process Design and Modeling Manager at Genomatica from December 2018 to October 2025, where Iman also held the position of Senior Process Engineer. Previous experience includes Senior Process Engineer at Ambitech Engineering and a lecturer position at the University of California San Diego. Earlier roles include Applications Engineer at PyroPhase and Research Assistant at Illinois Institute of Technology. Iman holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, along with an MS and BS in Chemical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology.
