QA Lead at Refract - an Allego company

Tim Fairhurst has over 20 years of work experience in the technology industry. Tim currently serves as a QA Lead at Refract - an Allego company since November 2021. Prior to their current role, Tim worked at Kerridge Commercial Systems from January 2018 to November 2021 as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for manual testing, defect reporting, and regression testing of mobile applications and SQL-based back-end systems. Tim also served as one of the team Scrum Masters, facilitating sprint ceremonies and assisting with project management tasks.

Before joining Kerridge Commercial Systems, Tim worked at Sage from October 2006 to December 2017 as Technical Support, providing front-line technical support to customers and participating in software development projects in the User Acceptance Testing phase. Tim also had a role at Orange from July 2004 to September 2007, focusing on contract upgrades. Tim began their career at TWENTY4HELP KNOWLEDGE SERVICE as Retail Support from January 2001 to July 2004.

Tim Fairhurst attended Crook Primary School from 1987 to 1992. Tim then went on to Willington Parkside Comprehensive from 1992 to 1997, but did not receive a degree or pursue a specific field of study there. In 1997, Tim attended New College Durham where they obtained an A Level in Computer Technology/Computer Systems Technology, Theatre Studies, and English Li. From 1999 to 2002, Tim studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Staffordshire University, earning an HND degree.

In addition to their formal education, Tim obtained certifications in the following: ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level in 2018 from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED in 2021 from the British Red Cross.
