Fred Ruff

Fred Ruff is the Owner and Executive Creative Director of Refuge Visual Effects, a boutique studio specializing in high-end visual effects for film, television, and streaming content, which they founded in 2013. In this role, Fred oversees all business operations, including client acquisition and project budgeting, while leading the creative direction and mentoring a multidisciplinary team. Previously, Fred held positions such as Head of CG and Pipeline Architect at Bent Image Lab, and Lead Product Designer at Autodesk, contributing significantly to the development of visualization tools and workflows. Fred's educational background includes a degree in Computer Graphics Technology from the State University of New York and an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts from Roger Williams University.
