Emma Pickering has a diverse work experience in the field of technology and abuse support. Emma started their career as a Crisis Worker at The Blue Sky Centre from December 2012 to June 2016. Emma then worked as an IRIS Advocate Educator at Stonham Housing Association from June 2016 to March 2017. Emma joined Refuge in April 2017 as a MARAC Coordinator until January 2018, after which they became a Tech Abuse Lead from January 2018 to January 2020. From January 2020 to June 2022, they held the position of Tech and Economic Abuse Manager. Currently, Emma is working as the Head of Technology-Facilitated Abuse and Economic Empowerment at Refuge, where they are responsible for leading the tech and economic abuse strategy, developing the team, and maintaining Refuge's reputation as an expert in this field.
