Software Engineer at Regard

Chris Hepner has worked in the software engineering and development industry since 2008. Chris began their career at Anodyne Media as a Web Designer/Developer, followed by a Web Developer role at the University of California, San Diego in 2011. In 2012, they took a Software Developer role at Plans Tonight, Inc. and then a Web Developer role at the University of San Diego in 2013. At the University of San Diego, they developed a responsive interactive campus map based on the Google Maps API and proposed and created plans for adoption of Continuous Integration (CI) practices by the Web Services development team. In 2015, they became a Full Stack Developer at Business.com Media, Inc., where they developed a RESTful API for internal and advertising services and improved the conversion rate of sales lead forms by 20%. Since 2016, they have been a Software Developer at Affinity Licensing, where they modernized development practices with VMs for local development and staging/demo environments, continuous integration, and code review, and migrated existing production server architecture from manually managed collection of servers to documented configuration management-driven inventory. Chris also designed and developed customer-facing REST APIs. Most recently, they began a Software Engineer role at Regard in 2021.

Chris Hepner attended Grossmont College from 2007 to 2010, where they studied Computer Science and Mathematics. Chris then attended UC San Diego, graduating in 2013 with a B.S. in Computer Science. In 2016, they obtained a Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification from Red Hat.
