Robert Berman

Robert Berman is currently the CEO of Rekor Systems Inc. Robert has previously served as the CEO of Cinium Financial and Empire Resorts.

Berman co-founded Cinium Financial in 2006 and was responsible for developing, launching, and financing a go-to-market strategy for a new product in the surety industry. Cinium was ranked #257 and #49 in the INC 500 in 2012 and 2013 respectively. Berman acquired a New York Domestic Property & Casualty Carrier and expanded its authority to 19 states, including California, Florida, and Massachusetts. Robert also created a Risk Management template with a new convention for underwriting difficult credits in a highly regulated environment.

In 2002, Berman co-founded Empire Resorts. As Chairman & CEO of Empire Resorts, they were directly responsible for raising more than $150MM towards the re-development of Monticello Raceway into a Class III gaming facility. Robert also laid the groundwork and planned for the development of the $1.5 Billion Resorts World Casino Catskills, which opened in 2018. In 2019, Empire Resorts was acquired by the Genting Group of Malaysia.
