Jess Elman

Head, Clinical Strategy at Related Sciences

Jess Elman is the Translational Biology Lead at Related Sciences. Jess has a long history of research experience, starting as a research assistant at Boston University investigating the transcriptional network underlying neuronal differentiation of PC12 pheochromocytoma cells in culture in response to treatment with nerve growth factor. Jess then became a Research Technician at Massachusetts General Hospital where they conducted research investigating the use of bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells as a cell therapeutic for the treatment of various inflammatory diseases including sepsis and Crohn’s diseases. Jess was also a Consultant at Cobalt Biomedicine, Inc. / Sana Biotechnology from February 2018 to May 2019. After that, Jess became a Senior Scientist at Sana Biotechnology, Inc. from September 2019 to May 2022. Jess is now the Translational Biology Lead at Related Sciences.

Jess Elman completed their undergraduate degree at Boston University in Neuroscience. Jess then attended Tufts University for their Doctor of Philosophy in Cellular, Molecular and Developmental Biology. Finally, they attended Newton South High School.
