Cory Lay

Cory Lay currently serves as the Manager of Test and Launch Structural Engineering at Relativity Space since November 2023, following a role as Senior Mechanical Engineer focusing on launch mechanical infrastructure for the Terran R. Prior experience includes positions as Ground Operations Engineer III at Sierra Space and GSE Engineer IV at BRPH. At Vaya Space, significant contributions included leading the installation of a liquid oxygen test stand and designing a clean room to ISO 5 specifications. Additional experience encompasses roles as Propulsion Engineer at Rocket Crafters and Product Design Engineer at Cobalt Design and Manufacturing, where competencies in Six Sigma standards and new product development were demonstrated. Earlier in career, Cory Lay was Plant Manager at TruRock LLC, overseeing 3D design and quality control. Educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Alabama and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from the Pyzdek Institute.
