Jacob Sherlock

Jacob Sherlock is an experienced aerospace engineer currently serving as a Vehicle Fluids Engineer II at Relativity Space since December 2023. Prior to this, Jacob Sherlock held the position of Senior Propulsion Design Engineer at Virgin Orbit from May 2017 to May 2023, where responsibilities included RE and Product Integrity for the First Stage Propellant Pressurant Management System, thermal and dynamic stress analysis in ANSYS, and modeling fuel tank pressure effects in MATLAB. Jacob Sherlock also worked as a Flight Operations Engineer at Virgin Orbit, improving a Python-based fuel management program and managing the design and integration of inert gas aircraft subsystems. Previous experience includes an internship at Jacobs Technology focused on optimizing Python scripts for parachute system assessments and an engineering internship that involved software design for fuel management in Boeing 747 missions. Jacob Sherlock earned a degree in Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics from The University of Texas at Austin from 2014 to 2018.
