Laurel Paxton is a Lead Propulsion Engineer at Relativity Space, overseeing the Aeon-R Gas Generator system and leading product development, system qualification, and flight production for the Aeon-1 Gas Generator. With experience progressing from Propulsion Engineer I to Lead, Laurel has been instrumental in design, manufacturing, and testing while driving process improvements within the Propulsion team. Prior to Relativity Space, Laurel served as a Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Southern California, earning a PhD and Master's in Mechanical Engineering, and gained practical experience through various internships at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, contributing to propulsion test capabilities and the development of innovative space systems. An undergraduate degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering was earned at Princeton University.
