Senior Software Architect at Relay

Brandon Smith has over 15 years of experience in software engineering and architecture. Brandon began their career in 2002 as a Software Engineer Lead at Firstwater, Inc. In 2004, they worked as a Consultant Software Engineer for both Insight.com and HiringAide.com. Brandon also completed a Masters degree at Carnegie Mellon University in 2004, where they were recommended for the program's Student Leader of the Year award. In 2005, they interned as a Program Manager at Microsoft and worked as an Advisor Software Engineer (III) at IBM, where they were involved in WebSphere sMash (Project Zero). From 2012 to 2016, they served as a member of the Technology Task Force for the Town of Cary. From 2016 to 2021, they worked as a Senior Software Architect at Republic Wireless, where they helped launch the company in 2011 and was part of the sale to DISH Network in 2021. Brandon is currently a Senior Software Architect at Relay.

Brandon Smith attended Arizona State University from 1999 to 2003, where they earned a BS in Computer Science. Brandon then attended Carnegie Mellon University from 2004 to 2005, where they earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Management Information Systems, General.
