Gregory Sorenson

Gregory Sorenson, PE, CIA, is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the electric utility and military sectors. As a Senior Technical Auditor at ReliabilityFirst Corporation since November 2021, Sorenson specializes in performance auditing in compliance with NERC standards for utilities in the Midwest. Sorenson has served in the US Navy Reserve as the Commanding Officer of SurgeMain Little Rock since December 2013, overseeing a 17-person unit providing crucial shipyard support. Previously, Sorenson held various roles at Southwest Power Pool, including Manager of Market Surveillance and Mitigation, where leadership in market analysis and compliance was pivotal. Additional experience includes strategic planning in Afghanistan and research in neurobiology and electromagnetics during academic tenure. Sorenson holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
