Karen Heymann

Karen Heymann is a Senior Manager in State Government Affairs for RELX, focusing on the Northeastern United States. They have a proven track record in shaping public policy and advancing regulatory outcomes in areas such as data privacy, artificial intelligence, and consumer protection. Prior to this role, Karen served as the Director of Legislative Affairs for Mass Audubon from 2012 to 2018 and held a position as an AAAS Congressional Science and Technology Fellow in 2012. Currently, they chair the Board of Public Overseers for the University of Massachusetts Extension and are pursuing a Master’s degree in Plant, Soil and Insect Sciences at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where they also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Plant and Soil Science and a Bachelor’s in Social Thought and Political Economy, alongside a Ph.D. from Cornell University in Soil Biogeochemistry.
