Fangyan Chen

Fangyan Chen has extensive experience in machine learning and engineering, currently serving as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Remitly since April 2018. Previously, Fangyan held various machine learning engineering roles at Remitly, starting as an intern. Prior experience includes a position as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at Metro21: Smart Cities Initiative, where Fangyan contributed to developing a fire-risk prediction framework in collaboration with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire. Fangyan's early experience includes an internship at the Shanghai Urban Construction Design & Research Institute, focusing on bridge design and structural analysis. Fangyan holds a Master's degree in Advanced Infrastructure Systems from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
