Ilham Ali

Ilham Ali is a Data Analyst at Remitly since May 2023, with prior experience as Co-Director of KhartouMap, where efforts focused on enhancing the public transit system in Khartoum through data collection and collaboration with local authorities. As the Founder of ZAHARA for Education, Ilham developed educational programs aimed at bridging opportunities between Sudan and the United States. Previous roles include serving as a Data & AI Client Technical Specialist at IBM and a Research Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where the master's thesis explored the intersection of satellite remote sensing and sustainable development in Africa. Educational credentials include a Master’s Degree in Technology & Policy from MIT and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from The University of Alabama.
