Nick Buker

Nick Buker is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Remitly since October 2023, with extensive experience in applied science and data science across major organizations. At Amazon from July 2020 to October 2023, significant achievements include developing regression and classification models that notably reduced error rates and runtimes, as well as collaborating on a causal modeling framework. Prior to Amazon, Nick served as a Data Scientist at Nordstrom, automating labor-intensive processes, and held a Data Science Fellowship at Galvanize Inc. Additional roles include consulting at Seattle Polymers, visiting scientist at the University of Washington, and various teaching and departmental leadership positions at North Seattle College and Edmonds Community College.
