Renkert Thomas Consulting works with enterprising families on succession, governance, engagement, ownership, and transitions. Renkert Thomas Consulting helps families make complex decisions—better.

Our client families’ activities range from operating businesses and family offices to complex family enterprises. Some are family run; all are family governed. Each is looking to strengthen their human capital, build governance that works for them, and achieve their unique vision for the future.

Renkert Thomas Consulting helps enterprising families develop governance that fits their family and their business. We don’t believe in “best practices,” we work with families to develop the right practices for them.

We have particular experience working with sibling partnerships, multi-generational families, and unrelated partner groups, especially when there are both managing and non-managing owners.

What we specialize in:
• We bring a proven process to help you clarify your purpose, build alignment, articulate your vision, and execute a plan to move forward.
• We have experience and knowledge of business, law, dynamics, organizational development, governance, and engagement. We deeply understand the complexities of family enterprises.
• We listen carefully, discuss options, and then design structures that work for you.
• We have personal experience navigating family businesses, trusts and investment structures—both as consultants and as clients.
• We bring expertise leading and navigating complex and transformational transactions—from gifts, trusts, and family office formation to shareholder agreements, ownership restructurings, and board formation.
• We have deep experience in governance design for family enterprises and understand that governance only works when it fits your family and your enterprise.
