John Melo has 30 years of combined experience as an entrepreneur in technology companies . He is currently the CEO of Amyris and has built a strong business of innovation serving consumer markets, primarily in Cosmetics and Food ingredients. Amyris is one of the leading companies bringing new biotechnology innovation to these markets, and offering cleaner and healthier product lines to consumers. Prior to joining Amyris in 2007, he served in various senior and executive positions at BP Plc (formerly British Petroleum).
