Michael Cottrell

Michael Cottrell has a diverse work experience in the payment processing industry. Michael has held various leadership roles and responsibilities at different companies throughout their career.

From 1997 to 2003, they worked at Vital Processing, starting as a product manager and eventually taking on roles related to point of sale connectivity solutions.

From 2001 to 2003, they served as the Senior Vice President of Alliance Partner & Strategy at Vital Processing Services, where they led product strategy and managed strategic alliances.

From 2003 to 2005, they worked as the VP of Market Development & Corporate Strategy at Creditel, a start-up venture focused on enabling credit card processing on mobile handsets.

From 2005 to 2014, they were the SVP Chief Business Development Officer at TriSource Solutions, responsible for all aspects of payment services and business development.

From 2009 to 2014, they served as the President of the Thunderbird Alumni Association Phoenix Chapter, coordinating events and promoting the Thunderbird brand.

From 2013 to 2015, they were a member of the Thunderbird Global Council, providing advisory support and enhancing the student experience.

From 2014 to 2019, they held multiple roles at ProPay, including President and VP of Global Product and Strategic Accounts, where they focused on payment processing and product development.

From 2019 to 2021, they worked at Global Payments Inc. as the VP of Product, overseeing the development and management of merchant processing gateways and other related products.

From 2021 to 2022, they served as President at Metrics Global, a full-service payment processing company.

Currently, they are working as the SVP of Clearing and Settlement at REPAY - Realtime Electronic Payments, leading teams responsible for payment clearing and settlement services.

Michael Cottrell holds an MBA in International Business from Thunderbird School of Global Management. Michael also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems from the University of Phoenix.
