Steven Cates

Steven Cates is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the bioprocessing and engineering sectors. Currently serving as a Bioprocessing Consultant at SRC Technology, LLC since June 2024, Cates has held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Repligen Corporation since 2016. Previously, from December 2004 to December 2020, Cates was the Vice President of Engineering & Systems at ALPHABIO, Inc., where responsibilities included corporate management and oversight of engineering activities, controls, automation, process system designs, and field services. Early career experience includes a position in Engineering PD/Technical Services at Sartorius Corporation from November 1983 to June 2003. Cates holds a Master of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Sonoma State University.
