James Austin

James Austin has a diverse work experience in software engineering and analytics. James is currently working at Replit as an Engineer since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Amazon from 2019 to 2023, where they held two roles - Software Development Engineer 2 in the Luna Social Team and Luna Client Services Team. At Amazon, they collaborated with cross-functional teams, designed and implemented features, and ensured production readiness of core services.

Before joining Amazon, James worked at Effective Measure as a Backend Software Developer from 2017 to 2019. James was responsible for leading the development of the company's core dashboard backend and built a query planner to optimize multiple queries. Prior to that, they worked at PwC Ventures as a Software Developer in 2016, where they contributed to the development of Nifty, an R&D tax incentive platform, and an internal iOS customer support messaging application.

James also has experience as an Insight Analytics Consultant at PwC Australia from 2015 to 2016. James worked with various clients in industries such as banking, gambling, and telecommunications, focusing on anti-money laundering and customer segmentation. James led the development of internal tools and methodology, including version control and data visualization tools.

In 2014, James worked as an IBL Student at QSR International.

James Austin completed their Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Monash University between 2012 and 2014. In 2017, they pursued further education by enrolling in Udacity to obtain a Self Driving Car Engineer Nanodegree. Additionally, they obtained a certification as a Self-Driving Car Engineer from Udacity in April 2018.
