Sarath Kumar began their career in 2014 as a Site Engineer at Builtech Constructions in Palakkad. Sarath then went on to work as a Junior Research Fellow at the Centre for Water Resources Development & Management (CWRDM) in 2015. In 2017, they worked as a Research Intern at the River Research Centre in Thrissur, Kerala. In 2018, they were appointed as a District Project Officer (Alappuzha, Kerala) at UNDP, where they coordinated activities related to disaster risk reduction and resilience of institutions. In 2020, they were promoted to City Lead at UNDP, where they acted as a focal point for UNDP in the city and facilitated the project planning and implementation of the Plastic Waste Recycling Management programme in the city. Sarath Kumar is currently employed as an Impact Project Manager at rePurpose Global, a position they have held since 2022.
Sarath Kumar completed their Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad, Kerala between 2010 and 2014. Sarath then went on to pursue a Master of Technology (MTech) in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering from College of Engineering Trivandrum between 2016 and 2018.
