Zachary Wehrspan

Zachary Wehrspan is a skilled high-performance computing engineer with extensive experience in both industry and academia. Currently serving as a Senior High Performance Computing Engineer at Rescale since July 2023, Zachary has effectively debugged and resolved numerous MPI and GPU-related issues, while also maintaining a vast software catalog on AWS and Azure. Prior to this, Zachary spent six years at the University of Iowa, first as a Postdoctoral Scholar focused on developing software for biological system simulations and later as a Graduate Research Assistant who led a team to create a high-performance data pipeline for ligand fitting into protein structures, achieving significant production speed improvements. Zachary holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Iowa, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in the same field.
