David Brewster

David Brewster has a diverse work experience in various technical roles. David is currently working at ResearchGate as a Principal DevOps Engineer, where they lead the development of their technical platform and developer-centric capabilities. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Platform Engineering at ResearchGate, responsible for connecting the platform's 20+ million members. Before joining ResearchGate, David worked as a Senior DevOps Engineering Manager and Engineering Manager. David also has experience in technical product management.

Earlier in their career, David held roles at Macquarie Group, where they worked as a Technical Lead/Senior Developer, contributing to risk management functions and shared infrastructure projects. David also worked at Westpac as an Analyst Programmer and at Northgate Public Services as a Technical Consultant, focusing on software development and data migration projects. Additionally, David has experience in the academic sector, working as an Analyst Programmer and Mathematics Tutor at the University of Wollongong.

David Brewster completed their education with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Wollongong in 2007. Prior to that, they obtained a Higher School Certificate from Lake Illawarra High School in 2001. In addition, they have obtained various certifications, including Parallel programming, Functional Program Design in Scala, Functional Programming Principles in Scala, and Duolingo German Fluency: Intermediate (Estimated).
