Johan Gästrin

Head of Shared Tech at Resolution Games

Johan Gästrin has extensive experience in the IT industry. Johan began their career in 1999 as an IT Consultant and Educator at JCG, where they co-founded a smaller consultant company and taught courses including Java, Swing, RMI, JDBC and Corba. In 2003, they moved to Spenta | TECHNOLOGY PEOPLE USE as a Software Engineer, working on projects for Grupo Uriach and Grupo Aisa. In 2004, Johan joined Connecta as an IT Consultant, taking on roles as a programmer and systems architect for projects for H&M and Tain. In 2007, they became a Senior IT Consultant at Yield Software AB, taking on roles as a programmer, systems architect and scrum master for projects for Skandia and UC. In 2010, they joined H&M as an Enterprise Architect, leading a project to evaluate system changes needed for long-term business strategies. In 2013, Johan joined King as a Product Manager Technical Platform and Senior Producer Game Engine, responsible for transforming King's internal technical platform and their internal game engine. In 2017, they started Gästrin IT Consulting, taking on assignments as Interim CTO, Engineering Manager and Product Owner, as well as advising and evaluating on tech strategies. In 2019, they co-founded Sum Network and served as an Angel investor. Most recently, in 2021, Johan joined Resolution Games as Head of Shared Tech.

Johan Gästrin began their educational journey in 1995 when they attended Stockholm University for a year studying Literature. Johan then began their Master's Degree in Computer Science at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 1997, which they completed in 2003. During their studies at KTH, they also attended the Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship in 2001 and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya from 1999 to 2000 to pursue a Master's Degree in Computer Science.
