Leon McFarlane

Analytical Scientist at Resolution Therapeutics

Leon McFarlane has diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Leon started their career in 2008 as a Petrol Station Customer Services Assistant at Sainsbury's Ltd and worked there until 2013. From 2012 to 2013, they served as a Research Lab Assistant/Technician at St. George's University of London. In 2013, they joined Sainsbury's Ltd again, this time as a Night Shift Stock Controller until 2015. During this period, they were responsible for receiving and organizing deliveries and assigning tasks to ensure the store was ready for trade in the morning.

In 2014, Leon ventured into the computer systems industry as a Custom PC System Builder at LRM Boutique Systems and Consultancy. Leon worked there until 2023 before moving on to Resolution Therapeutics, where they are currently employed as an Analytical Scientist.

In between their roles at Sainsbury's Ltd and Resolution Therapeutics, Leon also worked at Imperial College London. At Imperial College, they held multiple positions, starting as a GCLP Research Technician from 2015 to 2021. In this role, they were a member of the GCLP arm of the Robin Shattock Group and performed immunological assays for clinical trials and animal studies. Starting in 2021, they were promoted to a Senior GCLP Research Technician until their departure in 2023.

Leon McFarlane obtained a Master's Degree in Immunology of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, U. of London from 2013 to 2014. Prior to that, they earned a BSc in Biomedical Science from St George's, University of London (for students and alumni) between 2008 and 2011. Leon completed their high school education at Ernest Bevin College, obtaining A Levels from 2006 to 2008 and GCSEs from 2001 to 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Leon McFarlane has also obtained several certifications. Leon completed a course on "Building Resilience" from LinkedIn in June 2021. In October 2015, they received certification in "eGCP (Primary Care)_Introduction to Good Clinical Practice eLearning (Primary Care)" from Imperial College London. Leon also obtained certification in "Liquid Nitrogen Health and Safety" from the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) in May 2015 and completed a course on "Ebola in Context: Understanding Transmission, Response and Control" from Future Learn in January 2015.
