Thomas Y. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Thomas started their career as a Research Assistant at Ke Ola Mamo and the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine in 2009, where they gained experience in research. Thomas then transitioned to the role of Policy & Data Analyst at Good Beginnings Alliance in 2012, focusing on policy analysis and data management. In 2014, Thomas joined Papa Ola Lokahi as a Health Data & Resource Specialist, responsible for managing health data and resources. Thomas then moved to The Queen's Medical Center in 2015, taking on the role of Business Development Research Analyst. Here, they conducted research and analyzed data to support business development initiatives. In 2018, Thomas joined Hawaiian Electric as a Planning Analyst, working on strategic planning projects. Thomas later transitioned to the role of Lead Technical Analyst, where they oversaw technical analysis initiatives. Currently, Thomas serves as a Project Manager at Hawaiian Electric, responsible for coordinating and managing projects. In 2022, they also joined ReSpo.Vision as a Machine Learning Engineer, focusing on machine learning algorithms and applications. Thomas brings a strong background in research, data analysis, and project management to their current roles.

Thomas Y. completed their Bachelor's Degree in English at the University of Hawaii at Manoa from 2000 to 2005. Thomas then pursued a Master's Degree in Educational Foundations from 2005 to 2007 at the same university. From 2007 to 2008, Thomas Y. obtained a Professional Certificate in Special Education and Teaching also at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Finally, they completed another Master's Degree in Public Health with a specialization in Epidemiology from 2010 to 2011 at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
