David Ray

David Ray currently serves as Senior Vice President of Legal & Business Development at Respondus, a position held since April 2025. Prior to this role, David was the Chief Partnership Officer, General Counsel, and Chief Privacy Officer at ROC, where significant achievements included building strategic partnerships that facilitated over 200 million transactions annually and leading M&A discussions resulting in nine-figure valuations. As a Founding Partner at Bold Legal, David spearheaded extensive mergers and acquisitions, equity investments, and credit transactions, while also establishing the firm's foundational vision and operational strategies. David's earlier experience includes roles at Kendall, Koenig & Oelsner PC as an attorney focusing on M&A and venture capital, and as an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, contributing to high-profile transactions such as the $25 billion acquisition of Dell, Inc. David began the professional career at Lehman Brothers, generating substantial trading gains during a tumultuous financial period. David holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School and an A.B. in Economics from Harvard University.
