Michael Fabbroni is the Head of Financial Institutions Debt Africa & Country Director Kenya at responsAbility. Michael has over 10 years of experience in the microfinance and financial inclusion industry.

Prior to joining responsAbility, Michael was the Senior Investment Officer at responsAbility Investments AG, where they led business development and was responsible for credit risk analysis of potential investments in Africa. Michael also assisted in the implementation and structuring of transactions for the investment committee and transaction management unit.

Before that, Michael was the Regional Manager - Anglophone Africa at MicroFinanza Rating, where they were responsible for rating microfinance institutions across Africa. Michael started their career as an Analyst at MicroFinanza Rating before becoming a Research Internship at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.

Michael has a deep understanding of the African microfinance and financial inclusion landscape and is well-positioned to drive responsAbility’s growth in the region.

Michael Fabbroni has a MSc in International Development & Cooperation from Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori, Pavia, a MSc in Economics from the University of Florence, and has completed exchange programmes in School of Finance and Accounting at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and in International Economics at The University of Birmingham.
