Response Ability Theatre (RAT) is a boldly trauma-conscious and survivor-led theatre and participation arts charity that represents and supports people experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, trauma.

We do this through:
 - productions that reflect on experiences of trauma and the societal injustices behind them - always working from a place of hope and interrogation of how we can make better futures for survivors;
 - workshops for survivors offering theatre- and performance-based tools for safer exploration and expression of our perspectives and needs;
 - trauma-conscious communication training for people in positions of care for survivors, again using tools rooted in creativity and performance skills;
 - participation projects that bring survivors and those supporting them together in creative work for greater mutual understanding, respect and intentions;
 - collaborations with research projects pertinent to trauma experiences, to bring creativity and trauma-consciousness to data collection processes, communicate findings in broadly accessible creative ways, and involve survivors in conclusions drawn and recommendations made.
