Hubert Bourque

Hubert Bourque has a diverse and extensive work experience in the waste management and environmental industry. Hubert currently holds a position at Restoration Builders Inc. in their ESG and Technology Group. Before that, they worked as the VP of Commercialization at Sysgaz Inc.

In 2004, Bourque became the President of XWM Services Inc. (formerly CH4+3R Inc.), where they focused on the development of bioreactor landfill strategies, anaerobic digestion system strategies, and landfill gas system assessments. Hubert also assessed process performance for a channel composting facility and analyzed gas collection and utilization in boilers for greenhouse heating. Hubert'stenure at XWM Services Inc. lasted until February 2020.

Between 2008 and 2009, Bourque served as the Vice President of Project Development at Plasco Energy Group. Hubert'srole involved developing project opportunities for waste conversion to renewable energy projects in the Province of Quebec.

From 2007 to 2008, Bourque worked as the Vice President of Environment & Sustainable Development at RCI ENVIRONNEMENT INC. In this position, they directed landfill operations upgrades, including landfill gas capture strategies, odor control measures, and advanced leachate treatment measures. Hubert also assessed and directed the implementation of anaerobic digestion of organic wastes.

Prior to that, from 2004 to 2006, Bourque was the Vice President at GVM Communication. During this time, they strategically guided public relations and consultation initiatives for the proposed Cacouna, Quebec liquefied natural gas port. Hubert also served as a Waste Management Specialist and Environmental Consultant for CH4+3R Inc.

In the early stages of their career, Bourque held positions at Waste Management, USA Waste Services Inc., Envirofil Inc., and BFI Canada Inc. At Waste Management, they administered the company's Quebec operations and cultivated relationships with host municipalities. At USA Waste Services Inc., they served as the Chief Compliance Officer and developed environmental compliance programs for multiple landfills. At Envirofil Inc., they managed environmental compliance and assisted with acquisition planning and execution. Finally, at BFI Canada Inc., Bourque was the Vice-President of Environmental Affairs, ensuring environmental compliance for the company's landfill operations and medical waste facilities.

Hubert Bourque pursued their education at the University of Waterloo from 1968 to 1975, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree with a focus on Civil Engineering, specifically in the field of Environmental Engineering. Hubert then went on to attain a Post-Graduate degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Alberta, with a duration of study from 1984 to 1986. Additionally, Hubert Bourque obtained a certification as a Professional Engineer from the Professional Engineers Ontario institution in June 1977.
