Restoravore is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2024 and rooted in Southeast Minnesota’s Pleasant Valley Watershed. We advance restorative land use practices that reconnect communities with native ecology while supporting resilient local agriculture.

Our work focuses on prairie and savanna restoration, regenerative grazing, research and education. By treating our watershed as a living proof of concept, we integrate ecological science, land stewardship and community collaboration to restore ecosystem function, biodiversity and soil health.

Restoravore operates at a deliberately hyper-local scale. Rather than expanding geographically, we invest deeply in one place, working alongside landowners, farmers, researchers, neighbors and friends to rebuild ecological and social connectivity. Through research, monitoring and hands-on learning, we document what works, adapt as we learn and share insights that can support place-based restoration efforts in other watersheds.

We believe resilient futures depend on communities reengaging with the landscapes they inhabit - as stewards, participants and collaborators in living systems.

To learn more about Restoravore and our work, visit our website, where you’ll find a story map exploring the Pleasant Valley Watershed and the restoration efforts underway across it. We also share a growing collection of practical resources for land stewardship, restoration and regenerative agriculture, as well as a blog featuring in-depth reflections on the "why" and "how" behind the challenges facing our valley - and the approaches, treatments and practices we are exploring and utilizing in response.

You can stay connected by joining our email list and following Restoravore on Instagram and Facebook for updates, field observations and information about upcoming events and opportunities to get involved.
