Roy Kirshon

COO & Co-Founder at RetiSpec

Roy Kirshon is the Co-Founder and COO of RetiSpec, a cutting-edge retinal imaging company. Roy has over fifteen years of experience in product development and management, with a focus on medical devices.

Roy Kirshon began their career as a Platoon Leader in the Israel Defense Forces, where they served for four years. Roy then transitioned to the private sector, working as a Product Engineer for Applisonix, a company that developed ultrasound technology for the treatment of skin conditions. In 2010, Applisonix was acquired by EndyMed Medical.

In 2012, Kirshon joined Dune Medical Devices as Technical Product Manager. Dune Medical Devices developed a device that uses radio frequency to detect cancerous tissue during surgery. The company was acquired by Dilon Technologies in 2013.

After leaving Dune Medical Devices, Kirshon became a Manager at MK Project Management, where they oversaw project operations and finance. Roy left MK Project Management in 2014 to become a Venture Fellow at Blackstone Entrepreneurs Network North Carolina. Roy held this position until 2016.

Kirshon co-founded RetiSpec in 2016. RetiSpec uses artificial intelligence to detect early signs of Alzheimer’s disease and other age-related diseases through retinal imaging. The company has raised over $5 million in funding from investors such as Google Ventures and Khosla Ventures.

Roy Kirshon has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Tel Aviv University.

They are on a team with Catherine Bornbaum - Head of Clinical Operations & Partnerships, Alon Hazan - Head of Artificial Intelligence & R&D. Roy Kirshon reports to Eliav Shaked, CEO & Co-Founder.
