Chad Orr

Chad Orr has worked in the film industry since 2012. Chad started as a Graphic Design Intern at Mojo Media Labs, then went on to study at the University of Texas at Dallas. After graduating, they began their career as a Lighting and Compositing Artist at Reel FX in 2014, followed by Walt Disney Animation Studios in 2015. In 2016, they became a Lighting Technical Director at Sony Pictures Imageworks, then a Lighting Artist at Santa Monica Studio in 2017. In 2018, they joined DreamWorks Animation as a Lead Lighting Artist, where they were responsible for leading the lighting for Croods 2, Boss Baby 2, and Puss-in-Boots 2. Chad also created a pipeline for Croods 2 Lighting Artists and set up master lighting rigs. In 2021, they joined Retro Studios as a Senior Lighting Artist.

Chad Orr attended The University of Texas at Dallas from 2012 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Arts and Technology.
