James Pearson

James Pearson is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in international reporting, currently serving as the European Cybersecurity Correspondent for Reuters since September 2013, where investigations focus on hacks, leaks, and digital espionage. Previously, James held the position of Vietnam Bureau Chief, overseeing the Hanoi bureau and reporting on Vietnamese economics, Communist Party politics, and developments in the South China Sea. As a Korea Correspondent, James covered significant issues in North Korea, including its black market economy and nuclear missile program, and authored the book "North Korea Confidential." James is also a former Midshipman in the Royal Naval Reserve and possesses an M.Phil in East Asian Studies from the University of Cambridge and a BA (Hons) in Chinese and Korean from SOAS University of London.
