Renae Steichen

Renae Steichen currently serves as the Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs at REV Renewables, overseeing ISO/RTO markets policy, California regulatory policy, and strategic government affairs related to battery storage, pumped storage hydro, and solar operations since August 2021. Renae also holds the position of Director of Regulatory Affairs for the California Energy Storage Alliance while chairing the Board in 2024 and leading significant organizational reforms as Vice Chair in 2023. Additionally, Renae serves as Vice Chairman of the Board for Independent Energy Producers and previously directed regulatory affairs at LS Power and Sempra Energy. Renae has extensive experience in regulatory strategy, having worked at Smart Wires Inc., Collaborative Economics, SRA International, and the U.S. Department of Justice. Academic qualifications include a Master of Public Policy in Environmental Policy from The George Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree in Politics and Environmental Policy from Drake University.
