Karl Campbell serves as the Latin American Islands Director at Re:wild since September 2021. Previously, Campbell held the position of Latin America Regional Executive Director at Island Conservation from May 2006 to September 2021, where responsibilities included building and mentoring a team of project managers and overseeing island restoration projects aimed at vertebrate pest eradications to prevent species extinctions. Campbell also initiated and led the Innovation Program at Island Conservation, enhancing the efficacy of pest eradication efforts while minimizing impacts on non-target species. Prior experience includes a role as Field Operations Specialist with the Charles Darwin Foundation and Galápagos National Park Service from November 1998 to May 2006. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Vertebrate Pest Management and a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Natural Systems and Wildlife Management, both obtained from The University of Queensland.
