Robert Rees

Robert Rees has a strong and diverse work experience in the field of technology and cybersecurity. Robert currently serves as the Director of Cybersecurity & Technology Operations at Rexford Industrial, where they have implemented and managed the enterprise cybersecurity program and increased the organization's security posture by implementing the NIST cybersecurity framework. Prior to this role, they were the Director of Information Technology at the same company, overseeing IT general controls for SOX compliance and managing user access reporting and maintenance.

Before joining Rexford Industrial, Robert worked at CIM Group, L.P. as the Manager of Applications, Technology, where they worked closely with senior management to identify business applications requirements and maintain existing systems. Robert also has experience as a Senior Business System Analyst at the company.

Earlier in their career, Robert worked at NMS Properties, Inc. as a Systems Administrator, where they served as the single point of contact for all business systems and worked with the leadership team to ensure optimal utilization of company products. Robert also held the role of Yardi Training & Technical Support at the same company.

Robert began their career at Yardi, a leading provider of real estate software solutions, where they worked in various technical roles, including Technical Analyst, Application Specialist, and Technical Account Manager. In these roles, they dealt with software issues, collaborated with client infrastructure teams, and interacted with senior executives.

Robert Rees has a Bachelor's degree in Business Economics from UC Santa Barbara, which they obtained from 2005 to 2007. Robert also holds an Associate of Science degree in Fire Technology from Allan Hancock College, which they earned in 2010. Prior to that, they completed an Associate of Science degree in Liberal Arts & Sciences from Los Angeles Pierce College from 2002 to 2005. In addition to their formal education, Robert has obtained several certifications, including Developing Your Emotional Intelligence and Effective Listening from LinkedIn in June 2021, and What is Graphic Design? from LinkedIn in October 2019. Robert also holds certifications as an Advanced Open Water Diver from PADI since July 2001 and as an EMT-B from the California Registry of EMT's since May 2011.
