Bill works with business leaders on communications strategies that help companies strengthen their competitive position, drive growth and protect the reputation of their brands. A former editor, journalist and senior communications executive at leading financial institutions, he has worked with investment banks, asset managers, hedge funds, private equity firms, financial technology firms, exchanges and trading platforms, and energy companies. In 2011, he founded Bryant Park Financial Communications, winner of the PR Week’s 2015 Award for Best IR/Financial Communications Program. Bryant Park’s clients include a leading global investment, the largest electronic trading platform for corporate bonds, and the largest independent registered investment advisor in the United States. Previously, Bill was a Senior Partner at Gavin Anderson, a global communications consultancy. He joined Gavin Anderson from Edelman, where he headed the account team that won the Public Relations Society of America’s Silver Anvil Award for investor relations counsel to a Midwest utility undergoing restructuring. His corporate background includes serving as Managing Director of Corporate Communications at Bankers Trust and Corporate Affairs Executive for Bank of America’s Asset Management Group, with responsibility for the bank’s mutual fund, private bank, brokerage and alternative investments businesses. A graduate of the School of Journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Bill worked five years in Paris as Financial Editor of the International Herald Tribune and was previously an editor on the national news desk of The Wall Street Journal in New York. He has been a contributor to The New York Times, Directors & Boards, Global Finance magazine and TABB Forum, a website on financial markets and technology.
